New Town Plaza

Until some points along the Shing Mun River Channel, a Chinese-style ornamental footbridge named Lek Yuen Bridge which arches across the northern and southern banks of over the river channel happens to lead us to the heart of Sha Tin district – New Town Plaza.
Finally... at the modern side - crisscrossers

Having successfully gained its new-sprung fame since its extensive renovation, New Town Plaza in Sha Tin has now become one of the most highly ranked shopping malls in the city of Hong Kong. With the swamps of visitors from different corners of Hong Kong and not to mention visiting foreigners of different cultures, this notable landmark of Sha Tin does not worry either parties about having insufficient understandable directories for the diverse cultural groups. Similar to any of the other popular shopping malls in Hong Kong, New Town Plaza is able to suit any cultural difference with its distinguish multi-lingual feature.

Our Collaborative Work - crisscrossers

Strolling the way up from the Entrance Arena up to main shopping regions, no matter are they beauty shops, fashion boutiques or restaurants, it is not hard to discover that the mall is actually based on an international framework. From the most obvious clue - the names of the shops, you can basically notice that the proportion of foreign brands is way prominent than that of Chinese brands. It is possible to spot international company brands for example Japanese brands like Shu Eumera, Uniqlo; French brands like agnes b, KOOKAI, Cour Carre; and other more multi-national brands like Bossini, Zara, CK Calvin Klein etc. in just every floor, any direction. As for some shops that is more widely known locally such as Marks & Spencer, Mannings and bookstores like Popular and the Commercial Press, they are translated in both English and Chinese for the convenience of local shoppers.
Heading further, you may find yourself lost in the middle of the Grand Square on the third floor, wondering which of the four directions you should go next… then in one of the corners, a long elevator stretches up to the 7th floor and eventually lures you to be lifted upwards to this unknown land. Upon arrival to this wonder land, the next thing you know is the feeling of excitation and
astonishment!

The 7th floor, as know as The Menu accentuates diners that serve the widest array of culinary delights from Hong Kong, other parts of Asia and America. This gourmet paradise is packed with different restaurants like Bay Phoon Town, Ginza(Kuraudo), Honeymoon Dessert, Mr. Steak etc., already giving its strollers a tummy-growling experience by their names and
appearances. No, it is not similar to any other food courts or gourmet regions in any other shopping malls, the spotlight is projected at its out-of-expected surrounding that you could find in the middle of a concrete jungle - the exquisite restaurants are actually clustered along an outdoor garden patio where you can find a dazzling view of the Shing Mun River with a clear sky background. Restaurants such as Indonesian Restaurant 1968, Simply Thai etc have been designed to be located at the garden podium for its diners to enjoy a romantic yet cozy environment with their friends and families.

This kind of design has proved that modern shopping malls like New Town Plaza have aimed at creating an extra-ordinary and non-local style experience for their shoppers. It is not only the words of language that speaks, the way how the mall communicates to its strollers has become an important issue for drawing more attraction.
