Nighttime Central
Central by Night

Central’s Hot Spot
When the lights go out and the city’s quiet, Lan Kwai Fong (known as LKF) lights up and embraces the partying crowd with open arms.
Starting point is at the central MTR station exit D2.
When you step out of the MTR station, you will be standing at
Queen’s Road Central which is a long road lying at the bottom of LKF.
In front of you will be a steep slope going upwards, that will be D’Aguilar Street, the center of LKF.
Follow the CrowdIf you worry about getting lost, don’t fret. Just follow the crowd and they’ll bring you there. You’ll be able to smell the smoke and hear the
loud thumping music against your heart beat before you even get there.
Up, Down, Left, Right
You can say that the LKF area is defined by
D'Aguilar Street and the smaller lane, Lan
Kwai Fong, an L-shaped, cobble-stoned lane.
Both streets turn 90 degrees to form a
rectangle. From the west side of the rectangle,
Wo On Lane and
Wing Wah Lane extend to
host several more spots for drinks and food.
The area extends to
Wellington Street and
Wyndham Street.
LKF boasts a plethora of shiny bars, pubs and
exclusive VIP clubs. Nearby lanes are also
buzzing with bistros and restaurants in Hong
Kong's trendiest nightlife area.
The smell of sweat and smoke lingers in the air. The beer cups and cans clinking, the sudden roar of men’s laughter
as they share a dirty joke, the clattering of women’s heels as it pierces the concrete hill and the waft of Dior, Chanel
and Gucci perfume trailing behind them followed by the eyes of men lingering after them in lust.
D’Aguilar Street starts from Queen’s Road Central at Entertainment Building.
It is connected to Stanley Street and Wellington Street as it goes uphill.
South of Hollywood in Hong Kong
Stroll along nearby Hollywood Road and you'll find Hong Kong's "
SoHo", the area "South of Hollywood Road". It offers a wide range of high
class international restaurants and bars along
Staunton Street,
Elgin Street and
Shelley Street. Jump on the world's longest covered
escalator and experience the cosmopolitan atmosphere of this popular food district. You’ll be able to enjoy cuisines from Spain, to Portugal
to France.
Party Everywhere
The clubs are lined along the street like the sewing on the
seams of a skirt. Entrances to the clubs are dark and narrow,
leading you to another world filled with people and parties
that goes on until 7am in the morning.
Before the Party DaysIn the early days, Lan Kwai Fong used to be dedicated to hawkers until in 1980, a German businessman,
Allen Zeman invested in an area in LKF and renovated it with western restaurants. Ever since, the area soon became a local hot spot for westerners in Hong Kong. Allan Zeman is known as ‘the father of Lan Kwai Fong’.
